Programme

Day 01 - Trivandrum to Kanyakumari – 2.30 hrs drive

Meeting & Greeting on arrival at Trivandrum airport and transfer you to Kanyakumari hotel.
Afternoon visit of Kanyakumari

Day 02 - Kanyakumari to Kollam – 3.30 hrs drive

Morning transfer to Kollam hotel, enroute visit of Suchindaram Temple.

Day 03 - Kollam to Alleppey Houseboat – 2.30 hrs drive

Transfer to Alleppey Boat Jetty to board the Houseboat
(Check-in time to the Houseboat is at 12.00 hrs.)

Welcome drink on arrival and start cruising through the

Vembanad lake which is the largest fresh water lake in Asia, visit R-Block & C-Block (where paddy is cultivated much below the sea level), Pathiramanal Island and also enjoy the panoramic views and the glimpses of the Kerala backwater village life along the banks. Kumarakom is a beautiful village stocked with divine mangroves and coconut groves, lush green paddy fields. Kumarakom bird sanctuary is home to migratory birds. Many luxury Resorts can be seen on the bank of Vembanad Lake at Kumarakom.

Lunch break stop 1300 to 1400 hrs. Continue cruising.
Tea/coffee, snacks provide in the afternoon

Houseboat will anchor in the evening and will not move during the night. You can also get a chance to go out and walk along the riverside or villages.
Dinner & overnight in the boat.
(Air-condition in the bed room will be switched-on only during the night sleep)

Day 04 - Houseboat to Cochin – 2.30 hrs drive

Morning tea/coffee and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast while the boat starts cruising towards Alleppey.
At 0900 hrs. check-out from the House Boat at Alleppey

Transfer to Cochin hotel.
Afternoon visit of Kochi:

Kochi - the palm green commercial town of Kerala has one of the finest natural harbours in the world. A town with a hoary past, Cochin is the gateway to Kerala. The Jewish Synagogue – built in 1568 AD contains Grand Scrolls of the Old Testament and the copper plates containing the privileges granted to the Jews by the Cochin rulers. The floor of the synagogue is paved with exquisite Chinese hand painted tiles. The Dutch Palace was built by the Portuguese and presented to the Cochin Raja in 1555 AD. 17th century murals depicting scenes from the Indian epic, the Ramayana can be seen here. St. Francis Church, built originally by the Portuguese in 1510 AD is believed to be the first church built by Europeans in India. Vasco da Gama was originally buried here. The Chinese fishing nets can be seen at the entrance of the harbour. The Chinese through trade contact taught this technique of catching fish.

Day 05 - Kochi to Guruvayoor – Calicut

After the breakfast transfer you to Calicut, enroute visit Guruvayur Hindu Temple town & nearby elephant camp, where approximately 60 elephants are kept (the largest single group of captive elephants in the world). You can watch them feeding/ bathing, etc.

Afternoon short tour of Calicut (Kozhikode) city.
Calicut (Kozhikode)- was the traditional capital of Northern Kerala under the Samuthiri rule. Calicut, the most important city of Malabar region of Kerala, was a leading trading centre for spices on the West Coast of India during the medieval period. Calicut found a place in World History with the discovery of sea route to India in 1498 by the Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama, who landed at Kappad a coastal fishing village near Calicuty. One can also walk in Sweet Street (Mittayi theruvu): As the name suggests, rows of shops displaying halwa (a sweet) of different colors-red, yellow, black and green and other sweetmeats can be found here, besides many others.

Day 06 - Calicut to Nileshwaram – 5 hrs drive

Day 07 - Nileshwaram - Bekal Fort – Uduppi

Morning transfer to Uduppi hotel, enroute you can stop & visit Bekal Fort
Bekal Fort: - Giant keyhole shaped fort is spread over 40 acres. The imposing fort at Bekal is one of the largest and best preserved forts in Kerala. The beautiful expanse of the shallow beach near the Bekal fort known as Bekal Fort Beach has been developed as an exotic beach location. Some important features of this fort are the water-tank with its flight of steps, the tunnel opening towards the south, the magazine for keeping ammunition and the broad and wide steps leading to the Observation Tower which is a rarity. This observation center had strategic significance in discovering even the smallest movements of the enemy and ascertaining safety of the Fort. The Fort appears to have been built up from the sea since almost three fourth of its exteriors is drenched and the waves continually stroke the citadel. The Mukhyaprana Temple of Hanuman and the ancient Muslim Mosque nearby bear testimony to the age-old religious harmony that prevailed in the area. The zigzag entrance and the trenches around the fort show the defense strategy inherent in the fort.

Day 08 - Uduppi to Murudeshwar

Afternoon visit of Murudeshar:
Murudeshwar, the temple town with a vibrant scenic beauty and golden history, is located on the Arabian seafront in North Kanara Dist, Karnataka. Murudeshwar is a pilgrim's paradise. Right from the monumental entrance arch, the divinity of the place envelops the pilgrim. The Rajagopura at the entrance of the Temple is the world's tallest, standing at 249 feet. Inaugurated in May 2008, this mammoth structure is the latest addition to the Temple. The Gopura has 22 floors and is the only Gopura to be fitted with elevators. Besides the temple, the pilgrim finds himself in the midst of numerous sculptures on the Kanduka hill. The Geetopadesha, Sun chariot, the sculpture of Lord Ganesh receiving the Atmalinga from Ravana in the form of a young boy, and others dot the landscape of the hill. On the very top is the Shiva statue. Beneath the statue is a cavern with impressive life-size sculptures depicting the story of Murudeshwar narrated through an impressive sound and light show. The 123 ft high Shiva statue is the world's largest Shiva sculpture and has become a landmark. Another newly added masterpiece is the world's largest Rajagopuram in front of the temple complex. This 249 feet tower was inaugurated in May 2008. These monuments complement the natural scenic beauty of Murudeshwar.
